What I read about at the bottom of this article and my comment to it, too

I was reading an article by BU- School of Public Health titled: "Covid-19 in 2025: 'A constant threat, but a manageable one' " dated 3/8/25 (direct link to that article I'm referencing):  https://www.bu.edu/sph/news/articles/2025/covid-19-in-2025-a-constant-threat-but-a-manageable-one/ . The last paragraph and I quote word for word reads: "You can think of vaccines as powerful tools that can help you and your loved ones—no matter what your age—live a life that is freer from the awfulness of the diseases vaccines prevent. COVID-19 affects lung health, heart health, blood coagulation, fertility, and other functions of our bodies. The vaccines do not have these effects.” My response to the above quoted word for word paragraph: 👆 Yes, Covid-19 negatively affects multiple parts of your body, however, I know people who have gotten the Covid vaccine and still got Covid. You still need to do the well known precautions that prevent Covid (prescreen people PRIOR to c...

3 other ways to prevent Covid spread

Image
Here are 3 other ways to prevent Covid spread that can be easily incorporated into your life with minimal costs: 1) When you don't have to be some where by a certain time (and there'd still be time to do whatever business you need to do before closing time), you can wait in your car until a line dies down and then go into wherever you're going. For example, when there was a line/busy at my credit union, I waited in my car (I could see since I was parked right in front) and made a phone call first and then by the time my call was done there was no longer a line in my credit union. 2) Many of us buy things off Amazon and it doesn't take long to get a hand wipe and wipe down items you purchased. Hand wipes that are either the store brand or commonly known from the "Wet Ones" brand are gentle enough on your mouth and as a result they do NOT destroy things you wipe with (whereas with Lysol/Clorox/store brand of these types of wipes are still great to use, you have ...

Advice from someone I know who got Covid a second time to make it NOT be as awful

My massage therapist told me how sleeping in a reclined position so that it did NOT get into her lungs made getting Covid a second time NOT so bad. (The first time she had was VERY bad with long-term breathing problems).

A how to properly wash your hands sign with a few other tips added by me

Image
Recently, I saw the following hand washing sign in the women's restroom at Best Buy in Puyallup, WA  (see image below).  A few other tips I'd add to that list to prevent the spread of germs after washing your hands in public restrooms: 1) Use a paper towel to open the bathroom door (when exiting) after you've just washed your hands. 2) If the setup has you crank out your paper towel (some public restrooms) where there's a handle to touch to get paper towels out, be sure to crank out the paper towel FIRST then dry your hands on the clean paper towel so you don't have to touch the paper towel handle dispenser AFTER washing your hands. 3) A reminder from a previous post of mine, NEVER use the hand air dryers found in some public restrooms still. Even BEFORE Covid, it's been proven that those just blow around germs. As I mentioned in a previous post, if that is the ONLY way you can dry your hands in the restroom you're in, go out to a place that you can dry your...

Have you noticed places that prevent Covid spread recently? I have.

When I placed a carry out order at my previous visit to my last at Dominos Pizza, the worker typed on a keyboard that had plastic over it. Besides seeing hand wipe dispensers at stores, what other ways have you seen the prevention of Covid spread? Comment publicly to this post about it.

The most inexpensive place in town to get Covid tests since the South Hill Library stopped giving out for free a while ago

Image
Last Saturday, when I had business to tend to at Albertsons (Puyallup, WA location), I also ensured to buy an up-to-date Covid test to have on hand (I checked at home before going & saw my ones from the library were expired by a month even with their extension expiration dates they had). I remember seeing them for the BEST price that I've seen at places I go to (Fred Meyer and Walgreens) at Albertsons in front of their pharmacy. (They don't close off their pharmacy area [like Fred Meyer does] so you can get even if the pharmacy is closed). For one Covid test, it's $9.99. (I took a picture of the Covid tests in front of the pharmacy at Albertsons so that you know what I'm referencing if you want to buy there/check them out). There are also $14.99 tests (a test that will tell you if you have the flu or Covid) and are also photographed in the same photo below as that's how they are displayed in front of the pharmacy.  My personal opinion on if you should get the Co...
